Mario kart double dash for mac12/28/2023 Seriously, play this game if you haven’t already, especially with a fourth game coming to Nintendo Switch. Smart controls, powers that feel like joys to discover and even greater to use, and all of the novel atmosphere that put Metroid on the map, made Prime an absolute triumph. Somehow, Retro and Nintendo managed to convert this model to 3D without it ever feeling repetitive. Remarkably, Prime captured the essence of what made 2D Metroid games so great - an open world that is retraced repeatedly as you gain new powers. We’re placing it in the action-adventure category of our list, however, as it leans heavily on exploring its intoxicating landscape for new secrets, abilities, and baddies to blast into smithereens. No one could have expected that Metroid’s jump to 3D would prove to be one of the greatest games of all time, especially considering that Retro Studios created Metroid Prime as a first-person shooter. With Resident Evil 2 and 3 already getting remakes, it’s likely we could see a full remake in the future for this game, as well. Resident Evil 4 is now available on the go courtesy of the Nintendo Switch. Resident Evil 4 remains an influential game today and outside of Nintendo-developed games, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better GameCube game. From the frightening monsters to the epic boss battles, to the over-the-shoulder shooting mechanics, to the non-linear, spooky environments. Everything about Resident Evil 4 impressed. Naturally, the cult had turned even more sinister, so players had to spend their time watching their backs and shooting zombies. The game followed police officer Leon Kennedy on a mission to Spain to rescue the President’s daughter from a cult. While it did launch on the system first, it came to a slew of other consoles afterward. It’s still shocking that Resident Evil 4, one of the greatest action games of all time, was initially supposed to only appear on GameCube. It seems that no matter what retro gaming console you'd like to play, it's available on some form for Mac or PC. There are plenty of places to find games (token "you must own the game or it's illegal" declaration), most of which can be found with a Google search. With the Dolphin Emulator installed and your controller configured, it's time to play! Dolphin accepts games as ISO images. You'll need to click into each button field and set them by pressing the corresponding on the controller: With an acceptable controller available, choose Options > Controller Settings in the main menu. You'll need a suitable controller to play GameCube on your computer you can purchase a USB GameCube controller or you can use a controller you already have, like a Xbox controller. Start by downloading and installing the Dolphin emulator. The Dolphin emulator, available for Windows and Mac, allows you to play your favorite GameCube titles. After a bit of research I figured it out - let's'a'go! Step 1: Download Dolphin I owned the GameCube when I was younger and, though there were a shortage of decent games, I really enjoyed Mario Kart: Double Dash, so it was important I figured out how to play GameCube games on Mac. My newest adventure has me looking to progressively newer systems - this time the Nintendo GameCube. My current obsession with retro gaming has brought me to creating a RetroPie on Raspberry Pi, a Recalbox on Raspberry Pi, playing retro games on Mac with OpenEmu, and exploring how to play Sony Playstation games within OpenEmu.
